Sustainability

A bottle made differently from the beginning.

Made from renewable plant-derived material rather than conventional petroleum-based plastic, and designed and certified for managed industrial composting conditions.

Not home compostable. Appropriate disposal infrastructure is required.

Claims we can send you the documentation for.

The material

Five reasons the bottle is different.

Renewable feedstock

Made using renewable plant-derived feedstock rather than conventional fossil-based PET, so the bottle does not start life as virgin petrochemical.

Plant based

Carbon position

We hold carbon documentation for the bottle material from our supplier. It covers the material's production stage rather than the whole product lifecycle, and we issue it on request rather than summarise it as a slogan.

Documentation on request

Recyclable

The material can be recycled where PLA recycling and material recovery systems accept it. That depends on local infrastructure, and it is not collected in every UK kerbside scheme.

Where accepted

Industrially compostable

Designed and certified for managed industrial composting conditions. Not home compostable. Appropriate disposal infrastructure is required.

Certificate on request

Bio-based content

EN 16785-1 is the standard used to determine the bio-based content of the material. It measures how much of the bottle comes from renewable sources — it is not a biodegradability certification, and we do not present it as one.

From plant to purpose

From the earth. Back to the earth.

The sustainability story begins before the bottle is made — and continues after it has been used.

Biodegradable does not mean litterable. Correct disposal and local infrastructure still matter.

Provenance + proximity

Single Cornish source. Shorter chain.

Win Win Water comes from a single Cornish source and is blown, filled, labelled and dispatched at source in the UK.

Industrially compostable, not home compostable. Biodegradable does not mean litterable. Recycling and composting routes depend on appropriate local infrastructure.
